Instructors and Officers

I am a Colorado native.  I have been helping and working at the range since the age of six, when my father worked here and I would always come to work with him. I have been training pretty much my whole life with firearms and security related products. Aside from constantly training at the range I have done a variety of different training with pistols, rifles and shotguns in multiple states. I have done trainings with NRA and USSCA to Frontsight and other private training. My personal favorite is handguns. I enjoy the ease of maneuvering as well as the challenge of shooting skill. 

Teaching Style: (In his words): My style is a mix of serious and fun. I do take the skillsets and safety very seriously but I don't want myself or a student to forget the enjoyment aspect of trusting themselves and improving their security skillsets.

Born and raised in Rome, Italy, Luigi moved to Colorado in 1999. He took on shooting with his wife to learn personal defense training in 2000. He personally, completed our CCW class and certification. After years of formal/informal training and shooting, he worked to become an NRA certified instructor in 2009 and turned a hobby into a profession in 2015.

Teaching Style: (In his words): A no-bullshit, straight talking approach. You want nice? I don’t do nice, I do REAL. I need my students to be the best they can be, because I am out there with them every day.

Began as a customer at Silver Bullet Shooting Range. He appreciated how much knowledge and positive foundation that he wanted to earn his CCW and become a member at Silver Bullet. He spent every spare moment he could at the range developing his pistol skills in particular. His desire to improve led to an internship at the range, and that internship led to employment. That employment enhanced his passion and then turned into a desire to become an instructor, which then turned into his position as Head Pistol Instructor for the range and since then he has never looked back. You will always find him in the range, continuing his training and development with firearms, and striving to be the best that he could be for himself, for his students, and for the lives around him, because one day his or someone’s life depends on it. 

Teaching Style: (In his words): Tough love. I want my students to know why they are doing what we are teaching, as well as what they are learning; especially the reasoning behind what is being taught.

Began his shooting on the regular for self defense starting in the year 2008 and began his instructor career in 2009. Grundy extended his passion and did long distance rifle and tactical pistol training at Texas Triggers in 2012; Grundy then came to SBR in 2013. 

Teaching Style: (In his words): Melding high education with fun. I enjoy watching students find joy in shooting so they will keep shooting even when their certifications and classes are done.

CQB Trained since 2003 ( with multiple recertifications since then) 

Phil has had 6 years of military combat experience with an additional 9 years of law enforcement. Phil has experienced 4 combat deployments and since his time in the military has been very proactive in his personal shooting as well as becoming a firearm instructor for many people of many different skill levels. Phil began coming to SBR in 2012 and never left due to the environment and feeling of family within the staff as well as the shooters. 

Outside of becoming a Range Officer for SBR, Phil offers personal services of builds and cerakote custom made firearms as well as doing firearm repairs.
