These are examples of ammunition that is banned from use in our range. Most classic Wolf brand ammo is constructed of steel cases and some times even a steel jacket under the copper jacket. US/NATO "Green Tips" are just one of many varieties of penetrating military rounds made for military applications such as penetration. (M-855, SS-109 Many have no green paint) This ammo is very destructive to indoor shooting ranges and steel taget systems. We also ban aluminum cased ammo. Steel and aluminum cases forfeit our recycling program that helps us keep operating costs lower thus keeping use of our range at an affordable rate.

Wolf Gold is OK

WOLF GOLD AMMO IS THE ALLOWED EXCEPTION TO WOLF AMMO

AMMUNITION RESTRICTIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

ALL AMMO WILL BE INSPECTED AND CHECKED FOR STEEL CONTENT WITH A MAGNET.
BE PREPARED TO HAVE ALL AMMO THAT YOU BRING INSPECTED.

Full Metal Jacket or Plain Lead is OK.
Hollow points are OK.
No armor piercing, tracer or incendiary rounds. All rifle ammo will be checked with a magnet. .223 (5.56 mm) full metal jacket lead ammo is hard to find at a decent price these days, partly because the military is acquiring extra ammo from private companies to send to our troops. At the gun shows it is easier to find SS-109 (green tipped steel core rounds) than regular lead only rounds. Many people believe that all you have to look for is the green painted tips. This is not true. British SS-109 ammo is not painted, therefore we check all rifle ammo with a magnet before we allow it in our range. We advise shooters to keep a magnet with them when shopping for rifle ammo so they know what they are buying. Armor piercing ammo has it's place, in the field against enemy, not in our range. If Kelley has to repair too many holes in equipment meant to be bullet proof he may hunt you down!
ABSOLUTELY NO STEEL OR ALUMINUM CASE AMMO! (IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE RECYCLING OF BRASS CASES.)
Wolf Ammo is CRAP anyway and you shouldn't use it in fine firearms like AR-15's with tight tolerances. Commie made crap IS OK for Machine Guns, AK-47's and SKS's because they are loose tolerance weapons. (NEW WOLF GOLD IS ALLOWED ON MAGNETIC INSPECTION)
No black powder. (too much smoke)
Suppressed and class three weapons are OK with care and professional use, but ask first and be prepared to show permit. If you can't stay on target with full or burst auto, you should not have a class 3 permit. $5.00 extra charge for each metal target carrier hit.
Shotguns: Lead slugs and shot are OK. No steel shot OR BB'S. $3.00 extra charge to replace the target hanger if destroyed by shot pellets. $5.00 extra charge for each metal target carrier hit.

RELOADS

Silver Bullet also warns shooters not to use reloads unless we are selling them or you know your reloader is experienced and does a decent job of re-manufacturing your ammo. We have pieces of hand guns that have blown up like a grenade from either over charging reloads or under charging them causing "squib loads" (a bullet lodged in the barrel because there wasn't sufficient power to fully discharge, causing the next round to possibly blow up the gun).
